the process EP composed, performed, programmed, recorded, mixed by Peter
(with the help of excellent and esteemed friends as noted below)
in Hollywood and in Peter's neighborhood: Sunset Junction, Silver Lake, LA.

Some of these songs are new, some are old tunes from the nexus album. The latter have been re-recorded to represent their current states after rehearsals and shows with the Los Angeles live band. Songs are not static: they evolve and mutate; this record could be considered a snapshot of where things are in 2007. Songs also change and expand in a studio or DJ mix; thus the remixes. It's all part of the process.

1. treasure - process mix
This is an updated version of the song from the nexus album ... more-or-less how the live version goes, these days.

2. in the same place - catalog mix
This mix features alternate programming by Scott and Peter. Celeste appears singing the "operatic" part at the end. By the way, if you're interested in the version of this song you may have heard at a recent show, download this mp3 [this extended mix includes a segue and complete second song - not included on the EP for licensing reasons].

3. velveteen
This song has something to do with Roy Batty, and a toy RaByt. Celeste on guitar.

4. night to day - process mix
Another updated song from the nexus album, re-tracked and heavily influenced by some club remixes and the way we do it in the current live show ...

5. darkness + darkness reprise
This track includes the darkness reprise, which made a first appearance at the Malediction Society Steampunk Ball, as part of the score mix for The Clockwork Doll (a ballet piece performed by Forest). Celeste contributes vocals and guitar/eBow. Mee makes an appearance in the string arrangement in the reprise.

6. any other day (at least)
This is the first tune on the nexus record (and has also been the opener for recent shows). This version has been largely re-recorded and re-programmed, and then handed to the brothers brothers for treatments and remix.
